I Think I Drove Through Heaven

I went snowboarding at Big Bear yesterday with a friend.  As we drove up the mountain, we were immersed in a fog so thick that you couldn't see more than 5 feet in the distance.  We figured a gloomy day was sure to be our destiny.

heaven.jpgWe continued to drive into the higher elevation as we got closer the ski area.  At about 7000 feet, the fog disappeared instantly and gave way to the clearest bright blue sky I've seen in ages.

We pulled over to look down on the fog that clouded our vision just minutes before.  Here's a pic of the beauty.  It's like being just a few yards above the clouds that separate "our world" from the heavens.

It was so amazing...one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.  Notice the mountain popping its head out of the sea of clouds behind and below me.

Sidenote:  We hung out on the side of the road for 5-10 minutes and I had left my ipod playing random music in the car.  When I started the car back up, the first lyrics to play through the speakers were Jimi Hendrix's "...excuse me while I kiss the sky".

No joke!  We sat in the car for a few moments and took it in...feel free to do the same.
