Cider Cheese Fondue

3/4 cup apple cider, hard cider or apple juice
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
1 tablespoon flour
1/8 teaspoon pepper, or more to taste
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder, or more to taste

1  baguette, cubed and/or
Sliced apple wedges and/or
Precooked sausages, cut into bite-size pieces

In a large saucepan, bring cider to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Toss the cheeses with flour and pepper; stir into cider. Cook and stir for 3-4 minutes or until cheese is melted. Transfer to a small ceramic fondue pot or slow cooker rubbed with oil; keep warm. Serve with bread cubes, sausages or apples.
